About
Where It All Began
Ed & Lorraine Warren
Although they’ve passed on, Ed and Lorraine Warren have been considered America’s preeminent experts on the subject of spirits and demonology. Even more important perhaps, is the fact that for the past 50 years, religious authorities have consistently turned to Ed & Lorraine to control some of the most profane outbreaks of diabolical phenomena in the country. If you had nobody that would listen or help, you turned to the Warrens.
The Warrens dedicated their lives to investigating the supernatural to help bring an understanding of the other side to the forefront while helping bring peace to the families affected. The work they performed and the events they have encountered is nothing short of remarkable. The cases they have documented, along with the relics and artifacts they have collected, are considered to be the most powerful connections between the human world and spirt world.
Ed Warren was a demonologist. Lorraine Warren was a trance medium. They were not occultists. They were not strange. If you had the privilege of speaking to them, they would seem like normal folks with regular jobs. They were ordinary people who happen to do extraordinary work in a field that most people fear or don’t believe.
The forces they confronted are religious entities that – by their own admission – exist for the sheer purpose of opposing the works of God.
Diabolical forces are formidable. These forces are eternal and they exist today. In a world that scoffs at ghosts and laughs at the unusual, the Warrens deliver a contrary message. That message is this: The fairy tale is true. The devil exists. God exists. And for us, as people, our very destiny hinges upon which one we elect to follow.

Ed’s interest in the paranormal went beyond his paintings & drawings. When he heard any report of a structure being haunted, he & Lorraine (a skeptic at the time) would travel to the site to investigate. Ed would stand out in the street and sketch the house, then approach the homeowners with the sketch as a friendly gesture to get invited into the home. It worked.

Annabelle
A student nurse is given a Raggedy Ann doll as a gift and she brings it home where she lives with a roommate. Almost immediately, the roommates noticed strange occurrences with the doll and they were introduced to a medium who told them the doll was inhabited by the spirit of a young girl named Annabelle. The two roommates tried to accept the doll’s spirit and please it only to have it reciprocate maliciousness and violent intent. This is when Ed & Lorraine Warren were called and pronounced the doll demonically possessed. They removed the doll from the house and encased it in a glass box to contain the evil spirited entity.

1971
The Perron Family
Situated in Harrisville, Rhode Island, the home owned by the Perron family was said to be haunted by a witch from the 19th century by the name of Bathsheba Sherman. Based on the Warren’s research, the witch cursed this particular piece of land so that any inhabitants would eventually suffer a painful untimely death. This case inspired the 2013 film, The Conjuring, which Lorraine Warren was a consultant on.

1974
Amityville (Lutz Family)

In 1974, in the small Long Island Town of Amityville, NY, 23 year old Ronald DeFeo, Jr. brutally shot his parents and his 4 siblings while they slept in their beds. Just 1 year later, George & Kathleen Lutz purchased and moved into the home for a bargain price of just $80,000, which also included much of the DeFeo’s furniture. The Lutz family only stayed in the home for 28 days before being terrorized out of their home by a demonic presence.
In May of 1975 (5 months after the Lutz family left the home), Ed & Lorraine investigated the home along with a news crew to document the findings. During the investigation, an infrared time lapse camera picked up an image of a demonic boy standing at the bottom of the stair case. The Warrens concluded that the house was inhabited by an evil supernatural entity due to its violent history.
Some aspects of Ed & Lorraine’s account of this case was portrayed in the opening scenes of the 2016 film “The Conjuring 2.”
1977 - 1992
Other Cases
The Warrens investigated over 100 known cases and collected evidence, relics, artifacts and testimony from each site of demonic activity. Many of these accounts inspired books, TV Shows and Hollywood movies such as the ones in “The Conjuring” universe.

Judy Spera
Co-Director, NESPR
Judy Spera is the daughter of Ed and Lorraine Warren, and married to Tony Spera. Although Judy does possess psychic ability, she has not developed it to a high degree, due to her aversion to becoming too involved in the supernatural realm. Growing up, stories related to her by her father scared her to such an extent that she finds it difficult to immerse herself in some of our more serious investigations. Rather, she serves as our voice of reason, offering useful insights into methods and techniques we employ while performing our investigations.

Dan Rivera
Sr. Lead Investigator
Dan Rivera has been involved in paranormal research and investigations for over a decade. Born and raised in Bridgeport, CT, at an early age he was introduced to haunting phenomena, having witnessed paranormal events occurring in his home. Dan is a U.S. army veteran and is an expert in the rites and rituals of Santeria.

Chris "Jeek" Gilloren
Lead Investigator
Chris "Jeek" Gilloren has been part of the NESPR team since 2012. A decorated 25 year veteran police officer that has served on several units, extensively trained in interview and interrogation techniques. Chris is a skeptic, always seeking the truth and looking for logical explanations. He's not quick to label something as paranormal or haunted. There are people, alive and in the afterlife, who are suffering and Chris wants to be part of a solution to helping them.

Anthony Holmes
Motivational Speaker, Religious Advisor, Investigator
Anthony really enjoys working with other paranormal investigators to help give the clients the answers they need. Anthony enjoys working hands on with clients to better understand what they may be going through, as this can be a helpful tool in future educational material.

Deena Holmes
Motivational Speaker, Religious Advisor, Investigator
Deena really enjoys conducting deed research and historical data collecting, as she feels this aspect of what they do can help them paint a picture of the past. This is also the backbone of their investigation, because without having the history of a location, they are doing a client a disservice.

Wade Kirby
Intuitive/Investigator
In 1987, Wade Kirby underwent training in spiritual protection and home clearing techniques under the guidance of Mr. and Mrs. Warren, and has since cleared numerous homes of negative and demonic paranormal activities. Wade is delighted to be a part of the NESPR Team and assist clients in need. He currently lives and is the Caretaker of the Warren’s home.
